In an era when we’re still fighting to level the playing field for women in sport, FC Barcelona Femení is breaking barriers. The team is one of the most high-profile, skillful and ambitious women’s soccer teams in Europe, with an expressive track record of champion wins. In 2018, #EqualEverywhere partner Stanley Black and Decker announced an expanded partnership with the all-women squad as the team’s first jersey sponsor, raising the bar for other brands and teams.
Knowing very well the struggle for representation, gender equality and equity in sport, Forward Asisat Oshola, Midfielder Vicky Losada, and Defender Marta Torrejón teamed up to share what #EqualEverywhere means to them.
For Asisat, it means “no limitation.” For Vicky, it’s being an example for the next generation of women in sports – an example she found hard to find growing up.
“We need the same support and the same energy to be able to reach this same level that men’s soccer has,” says Marta.
